I had quite the weekend! Friday I picked up a girl from BYU and together we headed up to Rexburg. We stopped in Logan to pick up my cousin Jamee on the way. Jamee was feeling a bit blue and needed to get out and be with people who are fun and love her. What better place than Sugar City? So off we went. The roads were great and we made it with no problems. The girl from BYU was really fun and easy to talk to. Friday night we stopped and visited my friend Josh who is at BYU-I and we all (Josh, Jamee and myself) went out for ice cream. Then Jamee and I headed home. I was tired and wanted to go to bed but my family was watching a movie. I tried going upstairs but my mom and cousin were talking there. I chatted with them for a bit and then went back downstairs where I ended up chatting with my sister. I finally made it to sleep around 3:30 a.m. Not the most ideal time since I had made plans to go to the temple with some friends. I didn't sleep well and then got up at 7:30 to get ready. We went to the temple and surprisingly I stayed awake the entire time. After that I headed home and tried to take a nap. That didn't really work it was more like a rest. Then we packed up our snow clothes and headed back to Rexburg. Julie had been invited to a snowmobiling/sledding party so we met her friend and then made the trek to Ririe where we waited some more and then finally made it to the cabin.
Turns out there were more people than snowmobiles so we volunteered (we were actually volunteered by everyone else) to stay behind and sled and they'd go for a "short" ride and then come back and switch. We were fine with that, so they left and we headed for the hill and the GIGANTIC slide. We went down it a few times and packed the snow down pretty well at the bottom. My sister got hit in the face with a brick of snow and got a bloody nose. She finally go that under control and then had the great idea we should all do a train on the slide and get a picture. The first attempt failed so we had to try again. It was hard to fit everyone and to get us all in we had to have the first person (Julie) slide down a little bit, so Jamee had her feet around Julie then I had my feet around Jamee and we slid down a little bit. We got a couple pictures but it was hard to fight gravity.
Josh kept prying Jamee's fingers off the pole so I told Julie to just go and then Josh gave me a good push and Jamee and I headed down. Sadly this ended in tragedy. The slide is huge and we had a lot of speed. My feet were still up around Jamee and there was nothing to slow me down as I came to the bottom where the snow had been packed down. My poor poor tailbone took the full hit and I wanted to die just a little bit. I layed there in the snow for a minute or 2 laughing, to keep myself from crying. It hurt SO BAD.
We played in the snow for a while longer, and after I got a snowball in the face and there had been jumping off of buildings and flying through the air we decided we were done. Now we had been outside for over 2 hours and still no snowmobiles. We went inside and took off our winter garb and explored the cabin, Julie, Josh, and Jamee played in the wood box and then we decided they were never coming back and we should just leave. We were just pulling out when my sisters friend came back. They had had a horrible time and had been stuck most of the time. We decided we got the good end of the deal (despite the broken behind and bloody nose), told her friend not to feel bad and headed back. It was a really fun day, but the drive back home, church for 3 hours and then a drive home Monday wasn't very fun for me. I also had to go to the dentist where I had 2 fillings replaced and then the dermatologist where I had 5 moles removed. It was quite the weekend. Loved it!
