Glacier National Park

I don't have enough time or the words to describe this trip. The west side of Montana is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Even the drive there was a delight. The lakes and mountains, rivers and trees were just mind blowing.

We entered in the West entrance and went in search of a campground. We lucked out and found a spot in Avalanche campground. We walked around with no specific hike in mind. Lake McDonald was lovely. The rocks were just amazing. I was very tempted to start a rock collection.

Tuesday morning we hiked up to Avalanche Lake, then we were back to camp and packing up to head across the park. The drive was mind blowing. The mountains are just so awe inspiring. I honestly just don't have words. Even the dead trees burned in last years fire had a beauty of their own.

We bought some wood so we could cook our hotdogs, but the wood was too big to get the fire started. After a few failed attempts, I went to the neighboring campers and asked if we could borrow a hatchet. We then spent the next 30 minutes chopping wood. I broke that rock into multiple pieces beating the wood against it. But we got our fire started and our hotdogs roasted.

This picture from going to the sun road doesn't even do the view justice. Not even close. The view was ridiculous.

Victoria Falls

Our big hike to Cracker Lake. 12 miles with lots of singing to make sure we didn't surprise a bear and end up as bear dinner.

Red Rock Lake on our last day. Coming out of this hike we got poured on. Luckily we did not get hypothermia or get struck by lightening.

We had another big hike planned for Thursday, but after Cracker Lake, our feet just couldn't take anymore. We hiked almost 50 miles in 4 days. It was beautiful and I was just blown away at the wonders of the world. God is so good. He has given us so much beauty and majesty in this sometimes very ugly world. It was nice to not have any reception while in the park and just be disconnected (that didn't stop me from posting to instagram when I did have reception).
